James White Obituary

James Arthur White was born on August 23, 1949, to the late Lucy Ellen Robinson White and Raymond White Sr., in James City County. On Sunday, February 16, 2025, James was called to heavenly rest.

At an early age, James confessed Christ as his personal Savior at St. John Baptist Church, Toano.

James retired from Southern Blue Lawn and Landscaping. He was a hardworking and caring man who loved spending time with his daughter and had an undying love for his children and family.

James loved fishing and hunting with his cousin and best friend Lawrence Jones and his brother Leon White.

James was also preceded in death by his brothers, Willie White, Raymond White Jr., John D. White, and Leon White; and sisters, Florence White and Bertha Berkley. 

He leaves his lovely memories with his two children, Aaliyah Latrice Harvey and Perry Jackson; grandchildren, Dominic Jackson, Dristin Jackson, and Trinity Jackson; sister Macum D. White; the mother of his daughter, Carolyn Harvey; special friend Shirley Rivers; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.

A service to celebrate James's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Whiting's Funeral Home, with a viewing beginning at noon.
