On the evening of Thursday, February 6, 2020, suddenly and without a word of warning, God called our beloved John David Robinson home to eternal rest. He was born on October 13, 1959, the son of the late Ralley B. Robinson and Elizabeth Robinson-Turner, in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Early in life, John accepted Christ as his personal savior and joined Chickahominy Baptist Church, Toano. He was educated in the Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools; graduating from Lafayette High School.
He was an outstanding chef, working for several restaurants in the Williamsburg area. Most recently, he was employed by the Solar Factory in Toano.
As an avid football fan, he enjoyed watching his favorite team, the New York Giants play football. He was a loving and kind person who will truly be missed.
He leaves to cherish many fond memories, with his fiancé, the love of his life Pamela Jones; his children, Katrina Van Buren and John David Jones (Kiera); grandchildren, Kason, Zayden, Maraya, Niyah, Elizabeth and John Jr.; siblings, Cassandra Wynne, Sharon Scott, Nathaniel Robinson and Lionel Robinson (Willa); aunts, Viola Jones (Leland), Thomastine Wynne, Glendora Johnson, and Zolena Wynne; uncle, Rev. Thomas Wynne (Ellen); great-uncle, Joseph Alfred Washington; and a host of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2020, in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. A viewing will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of his service.
