Joshua Dewayne Reed was born on October 18, 1974, in Williamsburg, Virginia, son of the late Rosemary Reed and Douglas Meekins.
In 2005, Joshua confessed Christ as his personal savior and joined Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, where he faithfully served. He was a member of the Sons of Zion of Newport News and enjoyed singing and fellowshipping with the group as they ministered the word through song. After uniting with his wife Tijera in May of 2019, Joshua became a member of United Nations Church International -Fredericksburg.
To many, he was known as Big Josh and affectionately known as Dad, Pop, and PaPa to his children. He was a gentle giant who was full of jokes and laughter. He had a big heart for people. He was well known in the community after having worked in management at McDonald’s for 15 years. He had quickly become a customer’s favorite during his time at Harris Teeter. He could make a mean pizza!. At the time of his death, Joshua was a dedicated employee of Toano Contractors.
The Lord had a need for Josh. On Wednesday night, February 12, 2020, Josh accepted his next assignment.
