Julia Ann Brooks

Julia Ann Brooks received her wings on Thursday, November 2, 2023. Her life began on January 21, 1948, the daughter of the late Annie and Frank Palmer.

Later in life, Julia accepted the Lord as her personal Savior. She retired from the County of York. 

Julia loved her family, socializing with people, her children, dancing, and playing softball. She will be missed by all who knew her. 

Julia is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Brooks; son, Kevin Brooks; and brother, Samuel Palmer.  She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories of her children; Angela Brooks, Charles Alexander Brooks Jr, and Joseph Brooks (Shantelle); grandchildren; Roshaun, LaTrika, LaTonya, and Casandra Brooks; sisters, Virginia Palmer, Mary Jane Walker, and Josephine Palmer; brothers, Willie Mason and Robert Donnell Palmer (Novella); a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2023, at Whiting's Funeral Home. Interment to follow in St. Luke Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Brooks may be viewed on Friday in the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of her service.
