Julia "Judy" Elaine Jimmison

Julia Elaine Jimmison, affectionately known as “Judy,” a lifelong resident of Williamsburg, Virginia, was called home to be with the Lord on October 11, 2025. Born on May 22, 1953, to the late John Henry and Julia Jones Jimmison, she lived a life rooted in faith, love, and family.

Judy was a woman of warmth and heart. She had a way of checking on everyone; no matter how she was feeling, she always wanted to make sure her family was okay. She loved being surrounded by her loved ones. Judy was an avid bingo player who found joy in simple things, and she never missed a chance to have a good time.

Judy built a long and meaningful career at The College of William & Mary, where she worked faithfully for many years before retiring. She was deeply respected by her colleagues and known for her warmth, dependability, and kind spirit, the same qualities that defined her outside of work. A proud graduate of James Blair High School, Class of 1972, Judy went on to continue her education at Kee Business College, where she earned a certificate in Business Administration. Her education reflected her drive and dedication, qualities she carried into every area of her life.

Judy was the proud mother of two children, Andrew Jimmison, Sr. (Karen) and the late Melissa Jimmison. Her six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren were truly the joy of her life. She loved and spoiled them every chance she had. She also leaves behind her sister, Vanessa Frazier (Antonio), and brother, Timothy Jimmison, her nephew and nieces, Nathan, Nadia, and Nadine Frazier, who she held deeply in her heart, cousins, and dear friends. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Eric Jimmison.

Above all, Judy was a faithful woman of God. She was a devoted member of Mt. Calvary Seventh-day Adventist Church in Williamsburg until her health declined. Her faith guided her through every season of life, and her strength and kindness were a reflection of the God she served.

Judy’s love, wisdom, and gentle spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds peace knowing she is reunited with her loved ones and resting safely in her Father’s arms.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”  - 2 Timothy 4:7–8

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Ms. Jimmison may be viewed on Friday at Whiting’s Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
