During the early morning hours of May 7, 2026, Justin O’Neil Cheeseman answered the Master’s call and entered into eternal rest. He was born on September 3, 1993, along with his twin sister, to Kimberly Nichole Cheeseman, in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Justin attended Tabb High School in York County, where he explored his artistic talents. Justin was well-versed in music and poetry. He loved to write and produce music, create beautiful art pieces, and lend his culinary talents to his friends and family. Justin was never without a funny joke or anecdote to try to brighten someone’s day. Helping others to feel better always made him feel better, too.
Shortly after graduation, Justin joined the United States Navy, where he was briefly stationed in San Diego, CA. While Justin was away, he could never shake the feeling that he wanted to do more and reach more people. Upon his return home, he was employed at Eastern State Hospital, where he spent years as a Behavioral Health/Direct Care Technician. Caring for others had become a passion, whether in a health-care setting or a kitchen…. Justin just loved to make others smile.
His love of music, cooking, and the arts made Justin a Renaissance man of sorts, and he enjoyed lending his talents to the world of Hip Hop under the moniker, Ju-Laree.
Although Justin had no formal church affiliation, he knew God for himself and was becoming a sponge in soaking up the goodness and Glory of the Lord. He was thankful for every experience, good or bad, because it helped him grow. His young life was short, but full and vibrant, just as he was in life. His beautiful smile and mischievous eyes will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Justin was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Oliver R. Cheeseman, and stepfather Joseph A. Barnaby.
Justin leaves to cherish his wonderful memories, his son, Nasir Cheeseman, and his mother, Olivia Voelker; his mother, Kimberly Cheeseman (Vashon Bowers); his twin sister, Jade Cheeseman; his brothers, Javon Barnaby-Cheeseman and Jakobie Barnaby; his grandmother, Isabelle Cheeseman; his nephew, Cyncere Eure; his aunt, Kendra Cheeseman; and a host of extended family including great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, and many caring friends.
A service to celebrate Justin's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2026, at Whiting's Funeral Home, with a viewing beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park.
Professional services have been entrusted to the staff of Whiting's Funeral Home, 7005 Pocahontas Trail, Williamsburg, Virginia 23185. 757-229-3011 whitingsfuneralhome.com
