Kavron Carr Obituary

On Saturday, August 15, 2020, God sent one of His angels to bring home for eternal rest our beloved, Kavron Anias Carr. He answered the Master’s call and slipped into a peaceful sleep.  Kavron was born to Kavin and Calese Carr on August 18, 1997, and brought so much joy to their lives.

Kavron was educated in the York County Public Schools, Walsingham Academy (Class of 2015), Thomas Nelson Community College, and Christopher Newport University.

At an early age, Kavron gave his life to Christ and joined Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Williamsburg.  Later in life, he moved his membership and joined hands in fellowship with Dunamis Christian Center in Newport News. Kavron was well known for his amazing percussion skills.  At the age of five, he became the drummer for his family group, the Wise Gospel Singers.  As his skills began to flourish, He assisted various gospel singing groups in the area and became the percussionist for the V.H. Robinson Mass Choir, Youth Choir, and Men’s Choir.  Kavron was also a percussionist in the band at Walsingham Academy and sang in the Madrigals and with a few close friends at Walsingham. They formed a band called KC & The Cute Boys.

Kavron was a friend, a mentor, and was fun to be around.  He brought joy to everyone he came into contact with. He enjoyed the vibrant chatter of family, especially during family gatherings. You could always find him with a smile on his face, laughter in his heart and with an awesome sense of humor. We celebrate the life of Kavron because it serves as a vivid reminder of the promise and possibilities of each new day with his love for his family and his friends.

Kavron was preceded in death by his brother, Julian Carr; grandmother, Julia Wise Robinson; grandfather, Orlando Carr, Sr.; and great-grandparents, Deacon Hugh and Elizabeth Robinson. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his parents, Kavin and Calese Carr; three brothers, Elias, Tristan, and Brandon; sister, Laia; grandmother, Evelyn Carr; godparents; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

A service to celebrate Kavron's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 24, 2020, at Whiting's Chapel.  Mr. Carr may be viewed starting at 9:00 a.m. on Monday.  Due to the current health pandemic, only 50 people may be in attendance.  Face coverings and social distancing are required.  Facebook Live-stream will be available for this service.
