Kevin Orlando Taylor

Kevin Orlando Taylor departed this life on Friday, December 18, 2020, at Sentara Careplex, Hampton, VA after a courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis.  His life began on February 26, 1973, in Williamsburg, VA.

At a young age, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and joined Zion Baptist Church, Lightfoot. He attended school in the Williamsburg-James City County school district graduating from Lafayette High School in 1991. 

Kevin, fondly referred to as "Bird" by his family, was a devoted son, brother, uncle, cousin, and godfather.  Not only was Kevin the baby of the family, but he was also the baby of the entire neighborhood.  Family and neighbors alike always felt the need to spoil and protect him.  He defied medical odds with his zest for life. Life expectancy for Cystic Fibrosis patients is only twenty years, however, Kevin would have celebrated 48 years in February 2021!

Kevin leaves to cherish his precious memories, his loving and devoted mother Hazel Taylor; sister, Priscilla Smith; brothers, Gene Taylor (Donna) and Morris Taylor; aunts. Vivian Frazier (Preston) and Joyce Piggott (Raymond); uncle, Raymond Bowman (Rosetta); special friend, Tanya Silver; devoted neighbors, Clara Washington, Shirley Baker, Alan, and Earldine Billups; goddaughters, Aiyanna Long and Eziyah McCotter; two nieces; eleven nephews; and a host of cousins and many caring friends.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2021, in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Lightfoot.  Facial coverings and social distancing are required.  Facebook Livestream will be available at the start of the service.  A walkthrough viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday, in the funeral home.  All COVID-19 guidelines will be adhered to and facemasks are required.
