Larry Lee Williams

On Wednesday, January 22, 2025, God sent his angel to bring home the soul of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, Larry Lee Williams. His life began on June 10, 1951, in Yorktown, VA. He was the son of the late Gertrude Williams and Charles Patterson Jr.

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”  Rev. 21:4

Larry was a dedicated member of St. John Baptist Church, Williamsburg, Virginia.  He was a member of the Men’s Chorus and Church Choir and played drums for many of the church’s choirs. He also attended Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Providence Forge, VA, where he also sang with the choir. Larry rededicated himself to Christ later in life.

Larry was a man of many titles, an avid car enthusiast, the neighborhood and family mechanic, a joyful singer, a women and youth basketball coach, and a member of the beloved Buffalo Boyz. Larry worked for The College of Williams & Mary in the Transportation Department for over twenty years.  He was also employed by Whitlock Brothers. Toano, VA, for fifteen years. Larry was a known music lover of many genres.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude Williams, a sister who passed at a young age, brother Arthur Lee Patterson, an aunt, Minnie Woods, and an uncle, Coleman Patterson.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of twenty-four years Annis T. Williams; daughters, NaKia Longmire (Kenneth), Latasha Meredith (Derwin), and Shalanda Hicks; bonus son Jamaal Champion (Whitney); his mother in love Elenora Robinson; grandchildren, Schakel Wallace, Promise Jefferson (Julian), Sanai Rogers, Camron Rogers, Epiphany Kendrick, Javion Champion, Kennedi Longmire, and Kyleigh Longmire; great-grandchildren, Aubree Jefferson and Messiah Hicks; a host of brothers & sisters in love; beloved aunt Everlene Thompson; special family and friends, Kenneth Johnson, Billy Johnson,  James “Tiny” Lee, James “Duke” Wallace, Ronald Wallace, and Clint Carter; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00  a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2025, at St. John Baptist Church.  Interment to follow in the church cemetery.  Mr. Williams may be viewed on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m.
