Laura Wynder Howell passed away on March 12, 2021, in Manhattan, NY. She was born February 3, 1940, in Hampton, Virginia to McAllister and Mary Frances Winder, the 4th in the birth order of six siblings.
While attending George P. Phenix High School, Laura joined the school’s Marching Band and became a proud cymbal player. One of her happiest experiences was marching and performing at football games. After graduating in 1959, she continued her education at the PBX Business School in New York, NY. Laura received several awards for outstanding performance while working 25 years for Bankers Trust. She enjoyed traveling and was a devoted member of the Jehovah’s Witness Faith Community.
Laura was predeceased by her parents, her brother, Cleveland Wynder (a casualty of the Vietnam War), and husband, Edward Howell.
Many will cherish loving memories; including her sisters, Celestine Carter and Lois Palmer (Leon), both of Hampton, Virginia; brothers, McAllister Wynder, Jr. of Hampton and Charles Wynder, Sr. of Williamsburg, Virginia; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
