On Tuesday, October 10, 2024, God sent down a band of Angels to bring home one of His Angels, our beloved Laurastine Logan. She answered His call suddenly and without a word of warning in Olde Dominion Rehabilitation and Nursing. Her life began on April 7, 1939, the daughter of the late Archie and Estelle Ashlock.
At an early age, she accepted Christ into her life and became a member of Zion Baptist Church. She later joined New Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Robert Whitehead Sr.
Laurastine graduated from Bruton Heights School. She worked for Eastern State Hospital and Retired from the College of William & Mary. Her passion for children caused her to return to the workforce at the Griffin-Yeates Center and the Grove ABC Daycare.
She is preceded in death by her husband Warren Logan; brother Jack Ashlock; and sister Theresa Ashlock.
Laurastine leaves to cherish her precious memories with her children, Sharon Ashlock, Kecia Hopkins (Mark), and Ryan Logan; grandchildren, Ginelle Ashlock, Whitney Green, Ashley Green, Isaiah Samuel Jr., and Imani Hopkins; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; special cousin Vivian Wallace; special friend Rosalie Corbin; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Whiting's Funeral Home.
Professional services entrusted to the staff of Whiting's Funeral Home, 7005 Pocahontas Trail, Williamsburg, Virginia 23185. 757-229-3011 whitingsfuneralhome.com
