On October 26, 2024 God called LaVerne Ann Brown Seldon home. LaVerne was born on November 26, 1957, to the late Thomas Brown and Julia Opie.
She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She attended Charles City County Public Schools. She was a dynamite home decorator and could hang wallpaper like no other.
LaVerne was preceded in death by her siblings, Ernestine Jackson and Thomasina Welsh.
Her precious memories will include her daughter Germika Otey; son Tyrell Seldon (Terri); twelve grandchildren and a great-grandson; father Earl Opie; siblings, Margaret, Queen, Annis, Ashley, Crystal, Ann, Connie, Erica and Sharon; brothers, Bernard, Thomas, and Christopher; special friends, Maryland Crump, Sharon Davis, and Nelly Dunn; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunt, uncle, other relatives, and friends.
She will be missed dearly
A memorial service to celebrate Laverne's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Whiting's Funeral Home.
