On Monday, May 24, 2021, the Lord sent one of his angels to Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News, VA. His angel had a special mission to bring home his child, Lena V. Jefferson for “Eternal Rest”. Lena's life began on February 28, 1942, as the daughter of the late Viola V. Tabb and John Wade.
She worked 30+ years for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and the College of William & Mary until she retired in 2007.
During her lifetime, she touched the hearts of so many. She always had a smile on her face and brought joy and laughter to everyone that she encountered even when she was going through her own struggles. She leaves us with an unforgettable legacy, and we know our loss is Heaven’s gain and our lives are so much richer because she was a special part of it!
Beautiful memories will always live in the hearts of her fiancé, Lorenzo Jackson Sr.; two sons, Hubert Jefferson, Sr. (Marie) and Michael Jefferson; two sisters, Elaine White (Roscoe) and Clarice Tabb; two brothers, James Jefferson and Garland Tabb; extended family, Tomoko Hamada, Frances Parker, and Phil Funigello; six grandchildren, Ashleigh Goodwin (Durran), Hubert Jefferson Jr. (Michelle), Marcus Walker, Avery Pierce, Brenora Hill (Milton), and Michael Johnson; six nieces, to include two devoted nieces, Dominique White and Courtney White, Frances Howell (Anthony), Regina “Tina” Teshara (Joe), Charlette “Charn” Richard, and Chrissy Tabb; eight nephews, to include two devoted nephews, Dale White and Dwayne White (Chris), Marvin Mens (Kate), Derrick Richards (Amy), Stanley Richard, Karl Tabb (Cassandra), Jonathan Marsh, and Samuel Tabb Jr. (Nyhisha); and a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
