The Life’s journey of Leon Givens.
A loving son, husband, brother, dad, uncle, brother-in-law, and friend.
Our hearts were saddened by the passing of our beloved Leon "LE" of 7115 Pocahontas Trail, Williamsburg, VA. On September 22, 2021, Leon’s healing process came to an end. God called Him to rest from labor here on earth at 4:07 p.m. Leon was an identical twin and they were very close. When one hurts the other one hurts.
Leon confessed his Love of Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Morning Star Baptist Church, Jarrett, Va under the leadership of Pastor Pigford. Upon leaving the area, He worshipped and joined in fellowship with Mount Gilead Baptist Church in Williamsburg. He loved God, his family, football-(Dallas Cowboys), and work.
Leon attended Central High School and graduated with the class of 1985. Since the time of his graduation, Leon has always worked hard and was a stickler for being on time for work.
Leon leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of twenty-two years, Lisa Hope Givens; devoted mom, Winnie Parham Neaves (Charlie); dad, Francis L. Givens; devoted twin brother, Dion Givens (Deborah); daughter, Leontta Givens; stepdaughter; Domonic Wilder, three grandchildren; Zion, Shaniyah, and Ezekiel; stepgrandchild, Justice Wilder; father and mother-in-law, Rev. Micheal C. and Barbara Hope; close friends, Derrick Crawford (Natelie) and Annie Jefferson; his barber, Sherrod Walker; his adopted family that he loved, honor and respected very much, Mr. Dale Ward and son; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Whiting's Funeral Home. Livestream will be available at the start of the service. Interment to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Petersburg. Mr. Givens may be viewed on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the hour of his service. Facial coverings are required for all services.
