On Friday January 14, 2022, God saw fit to call our beloved Linda J. Johnson home. Her life began on August 12, 1954, born to the late Arthur and Corrine Holmes.
Linda was educated in the York County Public School system. In her youth Linda joined hands in fellowship with New Quarter Baptist Church. She was blessed to bring her one and only son Thomas whom she loved, into the world. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend who lived life to the fullest
Linda was a wonderful and compassionate caregiver. She had an amazing personality that will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her brother Joseph Holmes (Joe Joe); two sisters, Lorra McMiller, and Vanessa McCray; brothers-in-law James McCray and Joseph Simons; maternal grandparents, Dorothy and Thomas Morris; paternal grandparents, Maggie and Andrew Holmes; 4 aunts, Elsie Crump, Rosa Holmes, Elizabeth Holmes, and Eliza Ashlock.
She leaves to treasures her beautiful memories her son Thomas Holmes; grand-daughters, Hannah Andres Holmes and Breanna Marie Holmes; great grandson King Ashton Armani Dailey; sisters, Apostle Shelia Simons, Delores Williams, Gwendolyn Tinsley (Reginald), Vinetta Holmes, and Ethel Lee (Jeffery); brothers, Arthur Holmes (Bessie) and Angelo Holmes (Michelle); aunt, Martha Briggs; special friend, Ms. Jennifer Meeks, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many caring friends.
A funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday, January 25, 2022, in Whiting's Funeral Home. Livestream will be available at the beginning of the service. Ms. Johnson may be viewed on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the hour of her service in the funeral home. Facial coverings are required for all services.
