Lorenzo Taliaferro Obituary

On December 16, 2020, Lorenzo Jamar Moore Taliaferro, quietly slipped away from this life to rest in the arms of Jesus. Lorenzo, affectionately known as “Zo” and “Zobot”, was born on December 23, 1991, to Zina Taliaferro and Lorenzo Moore.

Being born and raised in York County, Virginia, he attended the York County Public Schools, graduating from Bruton High School. He continued his education at Lackawanna College, where he played football.  He later transferred to Coastal Carolina University where he was an outstanding athlete. In 2013, he was named the Big South Offensive Player of the Year. Lorenzo received his Bachelor of Science degree from Coastal Carolina University in 2014.  In that same year, he was drafted into the National Football League with the Baltimore Ravens where he played three seasons.

Lorenzo was a fun-loving and kind person with a generous heart who loved his family and friends dearly.   His humbleness allowed him to never forget where he came from. He was a generous person who always gave back to his family, friends, and community he loved and supported him. There are many stories of his many acts of kindness. He will forever be loved and remembered for how much he loved his family and people in general.

Lorenzo was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Betty Taliaferro, and Robert and Gwendolyn Moore. He leaves loving and lasting memories with his parents, Zina Taliaferro (Terry) and Lorenzo Moore; son, Major Success Taliaferro (mother, Jessica Wright); sisters, Cashawn Taliaferro (Barry) and Chasity Taliaferro; niece, Brielle Taliaferro; nephew, Bryson Taliaferro; aunts, Sandra Little, Angela Taliaferro, and Patrice Furby; uncles, Robert “C-Moore” Moore (Bert) and Ronald Moore Jr.; great-aunt, Cindy Dalton (Phillip); great-uncles, William Gilmore (Sharon), Gerald Gilmore (Karin), and Edward Gilmore Jr. (Patricia); godchildren, Santana Sanders and Emilia Jordan Wynne; godmothers, Bridgette Ransome and Barbara Powers; many loving cousins; special friends, Devin Wynne, Kevin Clarke, Chauncey Burgazzle, Darian Johnson, Imir Sanders, D'Andre Parker, Jackson Neve, and Alex Powers; special coaches, Tracy Harrod, Keith Dennis, Richard Holmes, Tommy Clarke, Coach Neve, Coach Honesty, Joe Maglia, Mark Duda, and Coach John Harbaugh; and other loving relatives and friends.
