Louis Alfred Meredith

Louis Alfred Meredith, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully entered eternal rest on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Riverside Doctors’ Hospital in Williamsburg. He was born on January 9, 1956, to the late Robert and Pernell Meredith. Louis was lovingly raised by his uncle and aunt, David and Campsie Braxton.

He attended Armstrong High School in Richmond, VA, and proudly served in the United States Army. Louis found joy in spending time with family, especially while watching his favorite football team, the Minnesota Vikings. Those who knew him will remember his generous spirit, infectious laughter, and love for life.

Louis was preceded in death by his siblings, Carl Meredith, Thomas Meredith, Angela “Angie” Palmer, Lafaith “Cookie” Graves, and William Meredith, as well as his grandson K’Chun Bell.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and memories in the hearts of his former wife and lifelong friend, Clementine Greene, and their children: daughters, Donna Baptist (Brandon) and Quachaunda “Poobie” Meredith, and sons, Maurice Meredith (Brittany) and Daryl Meredith (Kiera). He was a proud grandfather to twelve grandchildren and great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Sharon Smith; brother Robert Meredith; devoted and loving niece Latoya Palmer; special friend Catherine Greenhow; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many dear friends.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Whiting’s Funeral Home, with a viewing beginning at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will be at a later date in Amelia-Virginia Veterans Cemetery.
