Lue Dean Brown, daughter of the late Joseph C. Gray and Virginia Katherine Gray received her heavenly reward on May 6, 2020, after a short illness, and is now resting in the arms of God. She was born in Williamsburg, VA on September 17, 1935.
She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. Later in life, she joined hands in fellowship with Faith for Living Outreach Center where she served as an Usher, Sunday school teacher, member of the hospitality committee, and a volunteer for the daycare center and the Natasha House.
Lue Dean was joined in holy matrimony to William “Billy” Wilson Brown Jr. on May 8, 1954, and unto this union, seven children were born.
She was loved by everyone and enjoyed working for the Lord, along with hanging out with her sisters and caring for other people’s children.
Lue Dean Brown left this world to join her husband, William Wilson Brown Jr.; two sons, Herbert Lee Gray and Dirk D. Brown; two brothers, Clinton E. Gray and William R. Gray; maternal grandmother, Lou Dean Dillard; father-in-law, William “Daddy Brown” Wilson Brown Sr.; mother-in-law, Earlee “Mama Earl” Byrd Brown; brother-in-law, Pernell Brown; and a great-grandchild.
She leaves to cherish fond memories with her son, Percy Gray; daughters, Earldean Billups (Allen), Linda Bayes (Clay), Veronica Wallace, Glendora Brown, Vanessa Saunders, and Cynthia White; nineteen grandchildren; fifty-two great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Gray; five sisters, Virginia Fitts (Willie), Frances Saunders, Clara Saunders, Ennie Shaw, Rose Tyler, and special sister, Maria Roberedo; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Shird (Rodney) and Bessie Brown; her special family of four sons, Claudio, Marcella, Alex, and Martin Palmaz and four grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends, including special friends, Mr. & Mrs. Alan and Elizabeth Melton, 1st Corinthians Season Four U Senior Group, and the Faith For Living Outreach Center Family.
A viewing will be held from 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2020, in Whiting’s Funeral Home. A drive-In funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2020, at Faith For Living Outreach Center, Grafton, with Pastor Saundra Trumble officiating. Facebook Livestream will be available for this service. Interment at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
