Magdalene Staples Obituary

Magdalene Williams Staples was born on March 14, 1951, in Scotland County, North Carolina, to the late Robert and Sallie Williams. She was the youngest of seven children. On Friday, May 27, 2022, she entered eternal rest at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, Virginia.

She attended the Moore County Public Schools. Upon completion, she moved to Rahway, New Jersey, where she attended Middlesex County College while working at Woodbridge Developmental Center. She met her future husband, William Franklin Staples III (CSM RET).

Magdalene and William were married on November 21, 1981. During their marriage, they traveled overseas and across the United States. She later attended Saint Leo University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. After retirement, she and William moved to Williamsburg, Virginia, where she was employed with the Virginia Employment Commission. She also served as director of the Historic Triangle Senior Center and a volunteer coordinator with The Jamestown/Yorktown Foundation.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 41 years, William F Staples III; son, William F Staples IV; two granddaughters, Sanai J Staples and Ever G Staples; sisters-in-law, Carol Scott and Carol Williams; mother-in-law, Florence E Staples; three brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
