On Wednesday, December 23, 2020, for His purpose and way, once again, God came into our family circle and took our precious loved one, Mrs. Margie Bell Wallington-Penny into the "LAND OF GLORY" for eternal rest. Her life began on April 30, 1926, daughter of the late Johnny Wallington and Nannie Totten.
She was educated in the Caswell County Public Schools. A longtime resident of Williamsburg, Virginia, she was employed by Town and Country Laundry and Eastern State Hospital where she retired. She was a faithful member of The Testament Church of our Lord Jesus Christ of Apostolic Faith. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a kind and sweet person who loved the Lord.
She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, William D. Penny; daughters, Marie Penny and Dorothy Penny Murphy (Byron); and grandsons, Brian Penny, Imani Ephraim (Kevin Penny), and Antonio Wynn.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children, William E. Penny (Joyce), Walter Penny and Lorenzo Penny (Sandy); grandchildren, Taya Trower, Sharnell Trower, Micheal Penny (Roselyn), and Jesika Smith (Justin); eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Monday, January 4, 2021, at Whiting's Funeral Home. Due to the current health pandemic, only 50 people may be in attendance. Facial coverings and social distancing are required. Facebook Livestream will be available for this service. Mrs. Penny may be viewed on Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the hour of her service.
