Marion Buskey passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026. She was born on July 22, 1957, in Far Rockaway, Queens, New York, to George Buskey Jr. and Lucille Roberts Buskey.
Marion was raised in Far Rockaway, Queens, where she received her education from the local public school system.
She was widely known for her love of music and her exceptional DJ'ing skills. Marion shared this passion through her involvement in the family-owned club, where she brought joy, rhythm, and unforgettable moments to all who experienced her talent.
In addition to her musical gifts, Marion worked as a certified nursing assistant, dedicating herself to caring for others with compassion and kindness. She also had a passion for cutting hair, often using her skills to uplift and connect with those around her.
Marion was well known in her community for her genuine heart, selflessness, and unwavering kindness. She deeply loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them. Whether gathered for celebrations or simple moments together, Marion’s presence was always filled with warmth and love.
She also had a competitive spirit and found great joy in playing pitty-pat, a favorite pastime that brought laughter and lively fun to family gatherings.
Marion will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and vibrant spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lucille Buskey, and her sister, Debra Buskey.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved son Barheem “Georgie” Dixon; her beloved daughter Kaeshi “Polka” Dixon; her loving brothers, Dwight Buskey (Caprice Buskey) and George Buskey (Sonya Buskey); her special friends, Azida Frederick and Elianna Frederick, who loved her and affectionately called her “Grandma”; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
A service to celebrate Marion's life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Whiting's Funeral Home, with a viewing beginning at 11:00 a.m.
