In the early morning hours of April 22, 2022, God called our beloved Martha Ann Faulcon home to glory for her eternal rest. On April 4, 1940, her life’s journey began in Williamsburg, Virginia, to the late Evelyn Davis.
She was educated in the Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools attending Bruton Heights. She worked several jobs, including the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and Eastern State Hospital.
She confessed Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and was a faithful and lifetime member of Morning Star Baptist Church of Williamsburg, Virginia. Martha reaffirmed her love and commitment to Christ as her Lord and Savior shortly before God sent his angels to take her to her new heavenly home.
Martha was a loving and playful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was generous and kind to everyone. She opened up her home with open arms and would feed anyone that wanted to eat. Martha had an infectious personality. People were always stopping by to visit and talk with her. One of her famous sayings was, “keep a smile on your face.”
Her children and grandchildren loved and treasured her. There was nothing that they would not do for her. Their dedication continued towards her until the day she passed. One famous saying that her children will never forget and keep in their hearts is, “At the end of the day, you are always sisters and brothers, and I raised you to love each other; no matter what, we are family.”
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Dallas Faulcon and brothers, Irvin Johnson, Bernard “Juice” Johnson, and Moses Johnson. She leaves to cherish precious and fond memories her daughters, Valerie Barbour of Laurel, Maryland, and Cassandra Johnson (Ernest) of Yorktown, Virginia; her sons, Donald Faulcon (Twona) Newport News, Virginia, Douglas Faulcon of Laurel, Maryland, and Vincent Faulcon (Nicole) of Columbia, Maryland; her loving grandchildren, Zekita, Bryan, Earnest, Malinda, Bruce, Vincent, Divaughn, Shante', Darnell, O'Bryan, Latila, William, Dewan, Miguel, lil Donald; sister, Gail Hedgepeth of Woodbridge, Virginia; two sisters-in-law; Mary Faye Walthall (Jan) of Charlestown, South Carolina and Elaine Walker (Sylvester) of Littleton, North Carolina; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Whiting's Funeral Home. Livestream will be available at the beginning of the service.
