On Friday, January 19, 2024, our beloved brother and uncle, Marvette Wallace answered the Master’s call from his earthly labor to be with the Lord. Marvette was born on January 21, 1955, to the late James Wallace Sr. and Thelma Wallace Wade of Williamsburg, Va. He was the sixth of eight children and was preceded in death by his sisters, Annette Minns and Thelma "Mickey" Wallace.
Marvette attended the York County Public Schools. He retired from the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation after thirty years of service and was also employed as a cook at the Patrick Henry Inn
He enjoyed watching his favorite football team, the San Francisco 49ers, and his favorite basketball team, the Los Angeles Lakers. He was truly a die-hard fan.
Marvette leaves to cherish precious memories with his brother, James Wallace, Jr. (Barbara) of Charles City; sisters, Deloris Morris (Alvester), Elaine Evans (Thomas), Darlette Coles, and Judy White, all of Williamsburg, and Philesia Wade of Newport News; one aunt, Doris Edwards of Newport News; two uncles, James Jones (Betty) of Dale City, VA, and John Jones (Sandra) of Williamsburg; best friend, Eddie Walker; special friends, Ray Morman and Gervis Hundley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2024, in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Mr. Wallace may be viewed in the church on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the hour of his service.
