Mary Sellers

On December 23, 2025, our family suffered a profound and heartbreaking loss with the passing of Mary Sellers, a devoted mother, cherished sister, and beloved matriarch whose life was defined by love, service, and selflessness.

Mary was a remarkable woman who dedicated her life to caring for others. She proudly retired as a nurse aide, serving with compassion, strength, and unwavering commitment. She was the backbone of her family, whose love brought comfort and reassurance to all.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Douglas N. Richardson; her sister, Carolyn Tatum; her brother, Douglas M. Richardson; and her beloved infant son, Deone Sellers.  Her son, Troy Sellers, also passed away a few short hours after her.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Tony Sellers (Veronica), Corey Sellers, and Shoyn Sellers (Glendora); grandchildren, Deonta, Christopher, Ayla, Corey Jr., Kam’ron, Darren, Khalia, Destiny, Shoynae, MJ, Nahjay, Shayla, and Shoyn Jr.; great-grandchildren, Cayliegh, Tremayne, Christopher, Tavra, Aidan, Teghan, Logan, Shayne, Sha'mya, Shaquille, Dakoda, and Dalani; sisters, Edith Wynn, Jean Jones, Joyce Easterling, Ella Dale (Gerald), and Dorothy Foster; brother Lloyd Richardson; brother-in-law Jimmy Tatum; sister-in-law Ida Richardson; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A joint memorial service with her son will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Chickahominy Baptist Church, Toano, Virginia.
