Mary Alice (Delaney) Smallwood

Mary Alice Delaney Smallwood was born on July 16, 1939, in Williamsburg, VA, to the late Mary and Frank Delaney Sr. She departed this earthly life on March 9, 2023.

After graduating from Bruton Heights School, Mary moved to Philadelphia to attend Temple College. She spent a large part of her adult life in Philadelphia, working and raising her sons, Lamar and Roberte. After retirement, Mary moved back home, where she spent the remainder of her life.

Mary was preceded in death by her siblings, Jean Wallace, Leroy Delaney, Ronald Delaney, Debora Delaney-Kizzie, George Delaney Sr., and Charles Delaney.

Left to cherish her memories and legacy of love are her sons, Lamar Constatine and Roberte Sharusan; grandson, Jean Luc Lamar Constatine; siblings, Frank Delaney Jr. (Alice), John Delaney, Louise Smith, Deloristeen Delaney, Cathy Delaney, and Michael Delaney (Lynn); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends

A memorial service to celebrate Mary's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Whiting's Funeral Home.
