Natisha Samone Thomas

On April 4, 1992, Natisha Samone Thomas, a 4lbs baby girl, was born to author Tammy S. Thomas and the late Aaron E. Wilkerson, in Newport News, Virginia.

She was affectionately known as “Tee Wallflower” and “Mookie Bird.” Natisha was an entrepreneur and author. If it was not obvious, she also loved designing, writing, and making music.

Natisha was educated in the Newport News Public School system, attending Saunders Elementary School, Hines Middle School, and graduated from Warwick High School. She continued her studies in the medical field and became a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Natisha was not a stranger to anyone. She was confident, courageous, full of joy, and sociable. She could easily talk to anyone about anything. She always had to get her point across just like her father.

Her father, Aaron E. Wilkerson and grandfather, Earnest H. Wilkerson, both preceded her in death. Her memories will forever and always live in the hearts of her mother, Tammy S. Thomas; children, Naseer Thomas-Arrington and Ny’aira Thomas-Holland; sisters, Symaya Wilkerson and Denajah Thomas; nieces, A’lyvia Thomas and Leighlani Wilkerson-Campbell; Grandparents, Eugene and Shirley M. Thomas and Alice B. Wilkerson; aunt, Jeannette Thomas; uncles, Earnest Wilkerson Jr. (Tesila) and Kirk Wilkerson; godmother, Shemika Fauntleroy; her children’s godmother, Danielle Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Colossian Baptist Church with Dr. Peter A. Evans officiating. Live stream will be available at the beginning of the service.  Interment to follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens.  Ms. Thomas may be viewed on Monday beginning at 10 a.m. until the hour of her service. Facial coverings are required at all services.
