Paul H. Givens Sr.

Paul H. Givens Sr. was the eleventh of twelve children born to the late Howard W. Givens and Virginia O. Givens on July 29, 1945, in James City County, VA. He confessed Christ as his Saviour at an early age and joined Shiloh Baptist Church, Williamsburg, where he remained a faithful member and enjoyed singing in the Men’s Choir. 

Paul was a graduate of Bruton Heights High School Class of 1965. He worked as a charge aide at Eastern State Hospital in Williamsburg until he became ill.  He loved sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys Football Team.  Paul will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, but we find comfort in knowing he is now resting in the arms of Jesus. 

He leaves to cherish his loving memories, four daughters, Lachelle Givens, Paula Givens, Kiesha Reese, and Brettani Cropper; two sons, Rodney Reese and Paul Givens Jr.; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Pauline Washington (Louis), Alice Roberts (John), Betty Dumangane, Agnes Harris (Isham), and Shirley Yost; two brothers, Eddie Givens Sr. (Ernestine) and David Givens (Sylvia); special friend, Robin Cropper;  and many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Bethel Restoration Center. Livestream will be available at the beginning of the service.  Interment to follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.  Mr. Givens may be viewed on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.  Facial coverings are required for all services.
