Pearl Leona Wallace

Pearl Leona Wallace peacefully departed this life on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at Newport News Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Newport News, Virginia.  Her earthly journey began on September 14, 1912, in New Kent, Virginia, to John and Bell “Elliott” Johnson.  She was 108 years of age.

Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Tommy, Henry, John, Lloyd, Mary, Elizabeth, Charity, and Lucy; and son-in-law, Clarence Morris.   She leaves her memory to forever be cherished by her daughter, Mildred Morris; five grandchildren, Clarissa Taswell (Michael), Cassandra Clayton, Kevin Morris, Joyce Wright (Marvin) and Lisa Lane (Gary); nine great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; A devoted nephew and caretaker, Roderick Piggott (Patsy); nieces and nephews, Kenneth Piggott, Billy Harvey, Laura, Louise, Eva Marie and a host of other relatives and friends.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 26, 2020, at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, Barhamsville.  Due to the current health pandemic, facial coverings and social distancing will be required.  Interment to follow in the church cemetery.  Mrs. Wallace may be viewed Saturday beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the hour of her service in the church.
