Pierre Antonio Cotton

Pierre Antonio Cotton was granted his eternal wings on Monday, May 26, 2025, in Pensacola, Florida.  His life began on March 5, 1978, the son of Linda Hailey and Pierre Cotton Sr.

He was raised in the Croaker community. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal savior and joined Shiloh Baptist Church in Williamsburg, VA. 

He graduated from Lafayette High School in 1997 and later graduated from Norwich University in 2001.  

Pierre was married to Stephanie Cotton.  This union was blessed with two children, Donye and Deisha while living in Vermont for over 20 years.  Later in his life, he relocated to Pensacola, Florida, living there until his untimely death.

Pierre loved working with the youth, and his job showed it by becoming a Coach, Social Worker, Teacher, and School Principal. He received numerous awards throughout his life.  He loved sports, playing football, basketball, and wrestling in tournaments.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Jacqueline Braxton-Marrow and Wardell Hailey; paternal grandparents, Fletcher and Rosena Cotton; aunt Elnora Hailey-Rhodall; and uncles, Don Hailey and Darrin Hailey.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his mother Linda Cotton; father Pierre Cotton Sr.; fiancée Jarquita Lindsey; brothers, Kehlan Cotton (Lisa) and Pierce Cotton; aunts, Shirley Cotton-Saunders (Lloyd), Joan Crump, Brenda Black (Tony), and Cleo Hailey-Johnson; uncles, David Hailey, Bryant Hailey (Denise), Tyrone “Rickey” Cotton, and D’Artagnan Cotton (Pattie); step-aunts, Roslin Braxton and Joyce Braxton; two nephews; two nieces; and a host of cousins and many caring friends. 

A service to celebrate Pierre's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Whiting's Funeral Home.  Interment to follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.  Mr. Cotton may be viewed on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
