Preston Edward Ashlock

Preston Edward Ashlock, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at his home in Sumter, SC.  His life began on September 12, 1943, one of seven children born to the late Eunice and Josephine Marshall Ashlock, in James City County, VA.  He was also preceded in death by three brothers, James “J.B.” Ashlock, Marshall Ashlock, and Eugene “B.I." Ashlock, and one sister Frances Wallace.

Preston entered into the United States Armed Services on June 19,1962, where he traveled to different countries.  During his travels he met his wife Clorinda.  Preston lived in Italy for many years.  On, July 26, 1975, he married Clorinda Zanatta and they were blessed with one son.

Preston enjoyed coin collecting and football.  He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Precious memories of Preston will forever be remembered by his loving wife, Clorinda and son, Jimmy Ashlock, both of Italy; brothers, Eunice Ashlock of Gloucester, VA and Charles Ashlock (Joyce), of Williamsburg, VA; nieces, Cheryl Tinsley, LaWanda Wallace, Erica Ashlock, Lamisha White, Brittany Ashlock, and Rebecca Ashlock; nephews, Kazsion Ashlock, James Washington, and Corey Crawley; special friends, Greg Myers, Bill Day, Mr. Palmer, and Rich; caring aid, Jennifer Rufus; and numerous other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Noon, October 18, 2023, in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc. 821 North Main Street, Sumter, SC.
