Raymond Blayton Herriot (“Jack” / “Rolo”), age 70, of Newport News, Virginia, passed into eternal peace on Friday, February 7, 2020. He was born on March 22, 1949, the son of the late Elijah and Roberta Herriot, in Newport News, Virginia.
Raymond graduated from Carver High School in Newport News. He worked as a nuclear pipe fitter for Northrop Grumman Newport News Shipbuilding for more than thirty-eight years. After retiring from the shipyard, Raymond took pleasure in spending time with his family and interacting with his wife, grandchildren, and friends. He enjoyed watching football, basketball, and reading.
Raymond is survived by his beautiful wife of fifty-one years, Jeanette; son, Raymond Herriot; daughters, Linda and Stacy; ten grandchildren; extended family members, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude for all the kind words, thoughts, prayers, and gifts during this difficult time.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2020, at Colossian Baptist Church, 856 Old Fort Eustis Blvd, Newport News, Virginia 23608. Family and friends to assemble at the church by 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Mr. Herriot may be viewed in the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of his service.
