Rosalyn A. White was born on December 4, 1948, the daughter of the late Edgar J. and Alberta Morris Opie. On Monday, September 13, 2021, her earthly journey turned into eternal rest in Mary Immaculate Hospital, Newport News, Virginia.
She attended James Weldon Johnson school and worked as a caregiver in private homes. Rosalyn loved her family and friends. She also spent countless hours completing crossword puzzles, drawing, craft making, gardening, and playing video games on her tablet. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.
Fond memories will forever be cherished by her loving children, Camilla Martin, Russell White Jr., and Thaddeus White; four grandchildren; siblings, Earl Opie (Julia), Dale Opie (Lonnie), Thaddeus Opie (Deborah), Wayne Opie (Maria), Pam Askew (Roger), Belinda Jefferson (Wilbert), and Patricia Martin (Anthony); and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Whiting’s Funeral Home. Livestream will be available at the beginning of the service. Mrs. White may be viewed on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Facial coverings are required for all services.
