Rosemary Allen Obituary

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith; from now on there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing." Il Timothy 4:7-8

Rosemary J. Allen was granted her Heavenly wings on the morning of Wednesday, February 12, 2025, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Her life began on December 3, 1948, as the daughter of the late Thomas Morgan Jr. and Mary Piggott.

At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and joined Shiloh Baptist Church, Williamsburg, VA. She later joined Zion Baptist Church, Lightfoot, VA, where she served as a greeter and was a member of the Hospitality Committee. She truly enjoyed greeting everyone who entered the doors of the church and serving in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone loved her pleasant demeanor.

Rosemary attended Bruton Heights School, Williamsburg, Virginia, graduating with the Class of 1966.

She was united in Holy Matrimony on November 22, 1986, to Benjamin Allen.  This union was blessed with thirty-three years of marital bliss. She was previously married to Horace Jones Sr., and they shared four children together.

She was employed by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation for forty-five years, retiring from Christiana Campbell Tavern on January 1, 2014.

In her spare time, she enjoyed working with her word search books, playing cards, and spending quality time with her family. She loved cooking for her family, especially fried potatoes, chicken, and pork chops. She loved shopping at Sam's Club with her special friend, Voncile Parrott.

"Rose", as many called her, was a loving and caring person who left us with a legacy of love.
