Sean William Lilly

Sean William Lilly was born on April 25, 1988, in Plainfield, New Jersey.  He attended the public schools in New Jersey before relocating to Newport News, Virginia, in 1999.  He attended elementary, middle, and high school in Newport News.

Sean had a fond love for acrobatics and was an avid poem writer.  At the time of his passing, he was a team lead for Arby’s.  He was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Sean departed this life on April 21, 2022.  He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Alfred M. Lilly; aunt, Adrienne Hamilton; uncles, Guy Lilly Sr. and Ronald Hamilton; great-grandparents, Alfred and Nathalie Lilly; cousin, Kirk Lilly; and sister, Ja’Nazha Arthur-Walcott.

He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Avis Reneé Lilly; sister, Alexis Reneé Lilly; brother, Jamol laquan Pyles Jr; his family-in-love, Jamol Pyles, Sr. and Tamika Walcott-Pyles; brother, Jaquan Pyles; his extended family: other mother, Angela Yvette Riley; sister/cousin, Lynasia Simpson; sister/aunt, Charlene Brayboy; godparents, William Wray and Sheila Doyle; the loves of his life, Shelby Williams and her daughter, Iyana; godson, Nhi Mir Sherrod; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Whiting’s Funeral Home.  Live stream will be available at the start of the service. Mr. Lilly may be viewed from noon until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.  Facial coverings are required for all services.
