Sherice Greenhow was born on June 16, 1987, to Maurice and Rachel Greenhow and was raised by her special aunt, Julia Harrod. She was called to her eternal home on Monday, March 28, 2022. She is preceded in death by her husband, Julyan Carbonell; grandparents, Edward and Eula Greenhow, and Eli Canady; siblings, Tiffany and Marquis Greenhow.
Growing up, Sherice was a member of the St. Stephen’s Pentecostal Church where she was an active member and enjoyed singing in the choir. Sherice will forever be remembered for singing the song “Calling My Name” by Hezekiah Walker in the sunbeam choir. She later became a member of Forever Free Ministries where she enjoyed going to church with her family.
Sherice graduated from Woodside High School, Newport News, VA in 2005. After graduation, she was a devoted Barista at Starbucks and worked her way up to Assistant Store Manager. Sherice enjoyed her job and impacting the lives of many just through a cup of coffee.
On June 16, 2011, Sherice married the late Julyan Carbonell. They were blessed with three sons: Sincere, Christian, and Jaiden.
Sherice was a loving and devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, had a smile and personality that could fill the room, and was unapologetically SHERICE.
Sherice leaves to cherish her precious memories with her three boys, Sincere (14), Christian (10), and Jaiden (7); parents, Maurice and Rachel Greenhow; grandparents, Katherlyn Parrott and Trenny Canady; special aunt, Julia Harrod; special uncle, Kareem Parrott; godmother, Johnita Hallett; godfather, Ryan Clemons; siblings, Spencer Greenhow, Maurice Greenhow Jr (Mikaela), Stephen Greenhow (LaMisha), Rashad Greenhow (Latifah), LaShawn Greenhow, Quanisha Jones, and Jasmine Jones; mother-in-law, Glenda Straughter-Holness; and a host of nieces, nephews, many other loving relatives, and caring friends.
A memorial service to celebrate Sherice’s life will be held at noon Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Emmanuel Chapel Church, 200 Hampton Roads Avenue, Hampton, VA 23661 with Pastor Chris Morant officiating.
