On Tuesday, April 28, 2020, Tena was called from her earthly home to her heavenly home with the Lord for eternal rest. Tena was born in Charles City, Virginia on October 18, 1967, to James Hamilton and the late Betty Lou Lee. She was the seventh of nine children.
Tena received her education in the York County School System and resided in Newport News, Virginia.
Tena was a faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church, in Charles City, Virginia.
Tena’s true passion was cosmetology. During her thirty-three-year career, she owned and managed “Styles by Us” hair salon. She loved traveling, dancing, cooking, singing, and most of all, spending time with family and friends.
Tena is preceded in death by a sister, Cynthia Parker. She leaves to cherish precious memories, her children, Shamika Dennis and Kevin Dennis Jr.; loving grandson, Kiyan F. Dennis; her father, James Hamilton; loyal godson, Jamal Williams; four sisters, Sheryl Hilliard (Carl) and Pamela Lee both of Richmond, VA, Julie Wright (Russell) of Hopewell, VA, and (devoted sister) Bonita Lee of Newport News, VA; three brothers, Bobby Brown of Richmond, VA., Michael Lee of Newport News, VA., and Timothy Lee of Hopewell, VA.; uncle, Alfred Lee (Grace) of Queens, N.Y; devoted and faithful friends, Sarah, Samone, Denise and Shay and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
