Terrance R. Martin

Terrance R. Martin, a former Nose Tackle for the Houston Texans, departed this life on December 16, 2020, in Houston, Texas.   His earthly journey began on July 6, 1979, son of Annette and Johnnie Martin.

Early in life, Terrance learned the importance of having a relationship with God and became a member of the Historic First Baptist Church, where he was very active until moving out of the area.

Terrance was a graduate of Lafayette High School in Williamsburg, Virginia where he was a stellar hardworking athlete.  He continued his studies at Hinds Community College in Mississippi before transferring to North Carolina State University, Raleigh, N.C.

Terrance loved to mentor youth and was very active in the community.  His love for God was first in his life and he was not ashamed to show it.

Terrance was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Martin and his "Pops" Lewis Banks. He leaves to remember and cherish the life he lived, his mother, Annette Martin Banks of Toano, Virginia; fiancée, Kimberly Metoyer and their children, Kadin Lee Roy and Khaleefah Star Martin, all of Houston, Texas; brothers, Kenneth Thaddeus and Sequoya Martin, both of Alabama and Gregory  Banks of Virginia; sister, Tina Martin of Alabama; two aunts, Dannie Mae Mitchell of Alabama and Mildred Jefferson of Williamsburg, Virginia; and a large host of cousins, other family members, and friends.

Funeral services will be held in Houston, Texas on Tuesday, December 22. 2020.  A drive-up memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, December 26, 2020, in the parking lot of Bethel Restoration Center, Williamsburg, Virginia.  Social distancing will be required.  Facebook Livestream will be available for this service.
