Torie V. Long, affectionately called “ToeToe,” passed away peacefully in her sleep from a lengthy battle with cancer on June 25, 2024. She was born on March 4, 1977, to the late Lula Anne Long and Coleman M. Harris, in Williamsburg, Virginia.
At an early age, Torie accepted Christ as her personal Savior. Her faith in the Lord never wavered and she always had her bible with her. Torie graduated from Lafayette High School and continued her education at South University earning her associate’s degree.
Torie lived her life to the fullest and moved to Cumming, GA for a better opportunity. Her passion was computers. She loved watching TV, going out to dinner, visiting the casino, and taking road trips.
Her memories will forever remain with her brothers, Lawrence Long, Kermit Brown, Shawn Lee, and James Washington; sisters, Sharon Washington, Theresa Long, Jackie Brown, and Hazel Brown; special family members that were dear to her heart, Virginia Canady, Ronald Canady, and Antoine Canady; special friends, Deborah Cowles and Tangela Jackson; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Whiting's Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park. Ms. Long may be viewed on Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the hour of her service.
