Vertee Douglas Pressey, Jr. was born on April 27, 1949, to the late Vertee D. Pressey, Sr. and Alice V. Pressey. On December 24, 2023, Vertee entered into eternal rest at Canterbury Rehab and Healthcare Center in Henrico, VA
He grew up in Williamsburg, VA and was educated in the Williamsburg-James City County Public School System. During his younger years he accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.
He joined the United States Marine Corp in August 1968 and served in Vietnam. Vertee was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and received an Honorable Discharge as a Private First Class.
He was trained as a Cosmetologist and worked at several Barber & Beauty Salons in the Virigina area. At times you could always see Vertee in the yard at the family home on Longhill Road cutting hair.
Vertee leaves to cherish fond memories, his sisters, Carolyn P. Harvey of Largo, MD, Wilhemenia Mack (Howard) of Williamsburg, VA, Renita Hyman (Alton) of Columbia, SC, and Vernicia Winn (Vada) of Stockbridge, GA; brother, George Pressey of Williamsburg, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and caring friends.
Vertee Pressey will be viewed on Saturday, January 6, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 4002 Ironbound Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23188, with a funeral service with military honors will begin immediately following at 11:00 a.m.
