Viola Lee Harris Jarvis answered the call of her Lord and Savior on August 10, 2021, at Riverside Reginal Medical Center. She was born on April 23, 1931, to the late William and Willie Marie Harris in Danville. Virginia. She moved with her family to Lee Hall, Virginia in 1940 at the age of 9.
She attended Morrison High School. On August 4, 1947, she united in holy matrimony to Edwood Mason Jarvis. This union was blessed with 7 children: Princess, Lloyd, Betty, Jerry, Foster, Dametria, and Ray Anthony.
Viola was the kindest, sweetest person you could ever meet. She was a wonderful cook and baker. Her family will miss her Sunday dinners. She loved reading, word search, Bingo, yard sales, Soap Operas, and game shows. Getting her hair and nails done was a favorite pastime as well. You also would never catch her without her lipstick.
Proceeded in death by her husband, Edwood M. Jarvis; daughter, Princess Jarvis Myers; sons, Lloyd E. Jarvis and Ray Anthony Jarvis; sister, Emma Tann; brothers, William Harris and Victor Harris.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories, her children, Betty Jarvis (Larry), Jerry Jarvis (Debra), Foster Jarvis, and Dametria Gyant (Arnold); grandchildren, Nikole Jarvis-Potter (Eve-lyn), Deborah Gatling, Darryl Jarvis, and Lynnette Fogg (Eric); great-grandchildren, Journey Potter, Ezra Fogg, and Evyette Potter; three sisters, Gladys Evans (Reginald), Jennie Campbell, and Marion Green; two sisters-in-law, Irene Harris and Javon Harris; family friend, Jacqueline McDonald; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 21, 2021, at New Beech Grove Baptist Church. Facial coverings and social distancing are recommended. Livestream will be available at the beginning of the service. Mrs. Jarvis may be viewed from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
