Walter Alexander Brown

Walter Alexander Brown departed this life on Sunday, February 8, 2026. His life began on July 8, 1935, the son of the late Mildred Ellen and Ira Allen Brown, Sr.

He found joy in gardening and sharing his love for agriculture with the community at the local farmers' market in his neighborhood. In later years, his daily pleasure was watching his game shows and old school westerns. Walter was known for his long-lived presence in the community, sense of humor, and vigor for life.

He was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Sara Carter; his son, Walter Kenneth Brown; his sisters, Mary E. Harris and Mildred E. Johnson; and his brothers, Ira A. Brown, Raymond Brown, and Percell A. Brown.

A funeral service, celebrating the life that Walter lived, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2026,  in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Ronald Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
