William Thomas Jones Jr.

William Thomas Jones Jr. departed this life on April 13, 2024. His life began on September 7, 1950, as the son of Elnora and William Thomas Jones Sr.

"Tee," as he was affectionately known, graduated from Berkeley High School in the class of 1968. After graduating from high school he joined the United States Marine Corps, where he received the Marksmanship and National Defense medals.  After being honorably discharged, Tee returned home and worked several years as a Deputy Sheriff for the James City County Sheriff's Department.  He was also employed at the Naval Weapons Station and later was a custodian at Walnut Hills Baptist Church, in Williamsburg.  He would ultimately pursue his entrepreneurial dreams and started Divine Janitorial Services.

On September 8, 1984, he and the former Corlis James were united in Holy Matrimony.  

William Tee enjoyed cooking, being around family, attending professional bull riding events, and was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan.  He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his father, William Thomas Jones Sr; paternal grandparents, Hattie and Clyde Jones; and maternal grandparents, Clara and James Jones Jr.  William leaves to cherish his precious memories with his wife Corlis M. Jones; children, Benita Taylor (Lionel) of Williamsburg, VA, Corey Piggott (E’Dwina) of Atlanta, GA, Missy Piggott of Las Vegas, NV, Lukas James of Washington, DC, Stacy Jones (Eleschia) of Williamsburg, VA, and Steven Jones of Williamsburg, VA; thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his mother, Elnora Jones; siblings, Mary Wallace, Vivian Corbin, Lawrence Jones, Jean Cary (Gradly), Perry Jones (Patricia) and Zenobia Brown (Tony); special friend Lionel Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2024, at Life Church.  Livestream will be available at the beginning of the service.
