Zachary Roy Bumpass

Zachary Roy Bumpass, born May 10, 1991, in Newport News, VA, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 19, 2025, due to a motor vehicle accident.

"Zachary," as he was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love and compassion for his family and friends.  His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family and friends, as well as in the lives of many others who were touched by him.  We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way he impacted you with his presence of love and laughter.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Haywood Bumpass and Angela Sue Davis, and brother Keith Bumpass. 

He is survived by grandparents, Judy and Clarence Davis; sisters, Amy Bumpass, Lili Bumpass (Christal Watson), and Tina Hargrove (Corey); brother Ricky Bumpass; godmother Delores Williams; godsister Elizabeth Christmas; godbrother Michael Holmes; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A service to remember Zachary's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Whiting's Funeral Home, with a visitation starting at Noon.
